Student Exchange Programme with Govt T Romana College: Mizo Department

Department Activity

The Department of Mizo, Govt. Aizawl College (GAC) and the Department of Mizo, Govt. T Romana College (GTRC) conducted a student exchange programme for VI Semester students on March 25, 2025.

From GTRC, Mr. Lalnunzira and Miss R. Lalhnehpuii, along with 15 students, participated in the programme held at GAC’s campus at Mualpui, where Joshua Lalenkawla gave a presentation. Similarly, from GAC, Lalmuanzuala also delivered a presentation.

At the visit to the GTRC campus, 20 students from GAC were accompanied by Mrs. Lalremveli Chenkual, Head of Department, and Mr. Daniel Vanlaldampuia. Victor Laltluangzela from GAC and Lalzammawii from GTRC gave presentations.

Besides discussions and Q&A sessions, the event was successfully conducted with interactive activities as well.

GAC Participated in MIELS Conference and International Seminar: English Department

Department Activity

The 10th General Conference of the Mizoram English Literary Society (MIELS) and ‘International Seminar on Northeast Narratives: Literary Trends, Culture and Society’ was held at Government Aizawl North College on March 21, 2025. Attended by members of MIELS and students from colleges across Aizawl, the Conference saw the election of new leadership for the next tenure, the release of MIELS Journal, and an international seminar where Dr. Easterine Kire presented the keynote address, followed by paper presentations from academicians and research scholars, among whom was GAC English Department alumnus Moses Rampuia. Notably, selected GAC students of English Department were also in the spotlight during the productive discussion session chaired by Mark V. Vanlalrema, Assistant Professor, Government Aizawl College.

Free Medical Check-Up Organized by GAC Medical Committee and Trinity Hospital

The GAC Medical Committee, in collaboration with Trinity Hospital, Aizawl, successfully organized a Free Medical Check-Up on March 12, 2025 (Wednesday) at Room No. 302, Mualpui Campus.

A dedicated medical team, including Dr. Dommy Lalngaihawma, Dr. Lalruattluanga, two cardiac nurses, and two healthcare assistants consultations and screenings. The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with a total of 125 students and staff members receiving free medical check-ups and care.

The initiative aimed to promote community health and early detection of medical conditions, reflecting the commitment of GAC Medical Committee and Trinity Hospital toward public welfare.

Career-Oriented Awareness Programme: Career Counselling and Placement Cell

The Career Counselling and Placement Cell, Govt. Aizawl College organised a career-oriented awareness programme titled ‘Industry Insights and Career Connect Adventure on Della Adventure & Resort Pvt.Ltd’ on March 6, 2025 (1:30PM) at the Conference Hall, Mualpui Campus. The main objective of this programme was to groom and equip the students with the skills and knowledge necessary to have a successful career.

Dr.Rosie Lalmuanpuii, Associate Professor chaired the function. She warmly welcomed and introduced the resource person, Mr. Rayomond Hosi Irani, Chief Operating Officer and then invited him for his presentation.

The resource person highlighted the importance of discovering one’s choice of career and encouraged the students to pursue their career prospects in the field where they could apply their skills and experiences. He assured the students for his assistance in the endeavours of their career opportunities in Della Adventure & Resort Pvt.Ltd.

An interactive session was also held which proved to be a valuable platform for participants to raise and clear their doubts and queries. More than 200 final year students representing the Political Science, Mizo and History departments attended the programme. It was a resourceful and enriching programmme. The chairperson concluded the programme with a vote of thanks.

Blood Donation Drive: NSS & Red Ribbon Club

Club Activity

The NSS-GAC Unit, in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club, GAC and Civil Hospital Blood Bank organized a 'Blood Donation Camp' on March 6, 2025 at Mualpui Campus, GAC. 4 NSS PO and 2 Red Ribbon Club Nodal Officers, all 4th & 6th Semesters along with PG (M.A Edu) and Commerce Department participated in the camp.
