GAC Foundation Day and Golden Jubilee Closing Programme Held Successfully

The Foundation Day and Golden Jubilee Closing Programme was held on August 25, 2026 at the College Courtyard, Mualpui Campus. The programme celebrated the College’s 50-year legacy and marked the closing of its yearlong Golden Jubilee celebrations.

The first session began at 12:30 PM with a welcome speech by Ms. Lalremruati, Vice Principal, followed by a devotion moment led by Dr. Rebecca Lalhmangaihi, Department of Hindi. The College's Evangelical Union Choir performed a rousing welcome song 'Ro Min Relsak Ang Che' right before Dr. Mary L. Renthlei, Chairman, ICT & Documentation Committee presented the Jubilee Report with a comprehensive slideshow that highlighted the College’s journey and achievements. This was followed by a book release session where 8 books published by faculty members during the Jubilee year was formally released by the Principal. Mr. Lalbiakzuala. The Principal, who is also a GAC alumnus, delivered an inspiring speech after the book release session. He noted how the College was started by local philanthropists who were inspired to provide a solution for a need that they observed in their community 50 years ago and how the College has grown to its present strength from those humble beginnings. He exhorted the students to inculcate a sense of pride in their institution and highlighted how academic excellence can go hand in hand with extra-curricular activities.

The programme included special performances by the College's own Music Club, Dance Club and Huiva Cultural Club. Special artiste invitee Mr. J. Lalrosanga, LPS Youth Icon 2024 finalist, also performed at this session. Dr. Lallianchhunga, President, GAC Alumni Association, also addressed the gathering.

During this first session, the Best Department Award, instituted by the IQAC, was presented to the Department of Commerce by former Principal, Mrs. Hmingpuii Poonte. The award carries a citation and a cash award of Rs. 20,000. Towards the end of the first session, the Golden Jubilee Souvenir Magazine was released by Mr. Lalrinawma, President, GAC Pensioner Association.

The second session of the Golden Jubilee Closing Programme began at 2:30 PM with Praise and Worship, hosted by Dr. Rosie Vanlalruati Ralte, with Breakthrough Ministry serving as the praise team. The day ended with a dinner hosted for faculty members and special invitees.
