About
The GAC National Cadet Corps Unit was started in the year 2003. It is affiliated to the parent body of the National Cadet Corps whose aims and objectives are –
1. To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, and ideals of selfless service among the youth of the country.
2. To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth, to provide leadership in all walks of life and be always available for the service of the nation.
3. To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Armed Forces.
Cadets participate in as many NCC activities as possible including trekking, training camps, cadet exchange programmes, etc. Along with their Caretaker Officers, they conduct a membership drive for the enrolment of new cadets every year. This is usually done at the start of the annual academic year, i.e. July. Strict discipline is maintained following the motto and aims of the corps. NCC cadets are often requested to act as security to enforce order and discipline at various functions organized by the college.

To commemorate the 78th anniversary of India’s Independence Day, a flag hoisting ceremony was held in the college courtyard on August 14, 2024 at 1:30 PM. The Principal Mr Lalbiakzuala unfurled the national flag, flanked by the SUOs of the GAC NCC unit. As the National Anthem was played, NCC cadets in full uniform and attending students and faculty members saluted and paid honour to the flag.
At the Independence Day celebration held at AR Ground, nine GAC NCC cadets marched in the parade as part of the Armed Contingent, led by contingent commander JUO Ricky Lalthasanga (5th Sem., Sociology Dept).
Meanwhile, JUO R.M. Lalhmangaihkimi (5th Sem., Political Sc. Dept) and Cdt. P.C. Lalnuntluangi (3rd Sem., English Dept) were part of the pilot party that escorted the Chief Minister.
