About The Department
The Department of Hindi was introduced at the college in 2000 with only one faculty member. The Department later offered a three year degree course: BA (Honours) and Elective in Hindi. The Department at present has three regular and three part-time teachers.
The Department believes in creating a close relationship between teachers and students as this creates a sound environment for learning. This is attempted through the best practice of the College, that is, mentoring. Mentoring of students is undertaken diligently, where all the students are divided into groups led by each faculty member. Every mentor maintains a record of the academic performance of the mentees and monitors their progress, and motivates them as required.
Department meetings are held on a regular basis and the results of the students are analysed every semester to identify fast and slow learners.

The field visit provided students with valuable educational experiences, offering practical insights and a deeper understanding of their curriculum. The success of this trip highlights the importance of incorporating experiential learning into the educational process. We look forward to organizing more such enriching field visits in the future to continue broadening our students’ horizons and fostering a lifelong love for learning.
Following the field trip, all students and faculty members participated in the cleaning program at Sakawrhmuituai Tlang. The initiative began with cleaning the garden by picking up scattered plastic wrappers. After collecting the litter, they disposed of it in dustbins. Overall, it was a remarkable effort that brought together students and staff to work toward a common goal of raising awareness about cleanliness and making a positive impact on our environment.
