About
The Red Ribbon Club is affiliated to the Mizoram State Aids Control Society (MSACS) which has set up forty (40) such club-units in various educational institutions across Mizoram. The Club attends awareness campaigns and always collaborates with the blood donation camps organised by the college NSS unit.
The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) is a comprehensive promotional and preventive intervention to enhance voluntary blood donation as well as mainstream HIV & AIDS prevention, care & support and treatment impact, mitigation, stigma reduction among the youth in educational institutions. It prepares and promotes youth peer educators within and outside the campuses.
Role of the Red Ribbon Club:
· Educate youth with correct, concise and adequate information
· Enable youth, especially the female students, to identify and understand situations of exploitation and abuse
· Sensitize the youth regarding care and support needs of PLHIV
· Increase access to health care services
· Create linkages between youth and GOs, NGOs and CBOs
· Organize and facilitate VBD camps and mobilize the youth for VBD
· Create among the youth a cadre of peer educators

|Red Ribbon Club Club Activity
The Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS), in partnership with the Mizoram Athletics Association, organized a marathon event called the Mizoram State Level Red Run 2025 on September 18, 2025. The theme of the event was "Know Your HIV Status."
During the program, the Project Director, Dr. Jane Rinsangi Ralte, delivered a speech that was both enlightening and thought-provoking. The Honorable Health Minister, Smt. Pi Lalrinpuii, discussed the current national and state HIV statuses, including prevalence rates, and flagged off the Red Run.
The event also included a provision for participants to undergo blood testing and learn their HIV status. Over 200 students from various districts across the state participated in the event. Our institution was represented by eight students from different departments, who participated with the support of two Nodal Officers and Office Bearers from the Red Ribbon Club, Government Aizawl College.

|Red Ribbon Club Club Activity
On September 12, 2025 (Friday), the NSS-GAC Unit in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club and the Civil Hospital Blood Bank successfully organised a Blood Donation Camp at Mualpui Campus. A total of 101 units of blood were donated during the programme. Out of these, 87 donors were male and 13 donors were female including 1 faculty member.
The department-wise contribution of donors is as follows:

The camp witnessed active participation from students across various departments, reflecting their sense of social responsibility and commitment towards humanitarian service.

|Red Ribbon Club Club Activity
The Department of Sociology in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club observed 'International Youth Day' on August 11, 2025 (Monday) at Mualpui Campus. The programme was enriched by the enthusiastic participation of students, who not only showcased their creativity through thought-provoking posters but also demonstrated their commitment to spreading HIV/AIDS awareness, stigma, prevention strategies and sex education by distributing informative pamphlets and condoms, thereby fostering a culture of safe practices and open discussion around sensitive topics.
The event culminated in a resounding success, with the collective efforts of the Sociology Department faculties, 3rd and 5th Semester students, and Red Ribbon Club members leaving a lasting impact on the attendees, fostering a ripple effect of awareness and understanding.

The NSS-GAC Unit, in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club, GAC and Civil Hospital Blood Bank organized a 'Blood Donation Camp' on March 6, 2025 at Mualpui Campus, GAC. 4 NSS PO and 2 Red Ribbon Club Nodal Officers, all 4th & 6th Semesters along with PG (M.A Edu) and Commerce Department participated in the camp.

|Red Ribbon Club Club Activity
The NSS GAC Unit and Red Ribbon Club collaborated with the Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS) to organize an HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign on March 5, 2025 (Wednesday) at Mualpui Campus.
Mrs. Lalchhuanzuali was the resource person and she delivered a heartfelt and powerful speech about her life as a person living with HIV/AIDS. The programme was chaired by Mr. Zomuansanga, PO, NSS GAC Unit.
Sixth semester students of Education, Economics, Sociology, English, Hindi and Commerce departments attended the programme.
