About
The Red Ribbon Club is affiliated to the Mizoram State Aids Control Society (MSACS) which has set up forty (40) such club-units in various educational institutions across Mizoram. The Club attends awareness campaigns and always collaborates with the blood donation camps organised by the college NSS unit.
The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) is a comprehensive promotional and preventive intervention to enhance voluntary blood donation as well as mainstream HIV & AIDS prevention, care & support and treatment impact, mitigation, stigma reduction among the youth in educational institutions. It prepares and promotes youth peer educators within and outside the campuses.
Role of the Red Ribbon Club:
· Educate youth with correct, concise and adequate information
· Enable youth, especially the female students, to identify and understand situations of exploitation and abuse
· Sensitize the youth regarding care and support needs of PLHIV
· Increase access to health care services
· Create linkages between youth and GOs, NGOs and CBOs
· Organize and facilitate VBD camps and mobilize the youth for VBD
· Create among the youth a cadre of peer educators

|Red Ribbon Club Club Activity
The NSS-GAC Unit, in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club, GAC and Civil Hospital Blood Bank organized a 'Blood Donation Camp' on February 4, 2024 at Sikulpuikawn Campus. A total number of 94 donors (Male-82, Female-12) donated their blood. A department-wise breakdown of donors is as follows:

|Red Ribbon Club Club Activity
The NSS, GAC Unit, in collaboration with the GAC Red Ribbon Club and the Aizawl Civil Hospital Blood Bank organized a ‘Blood Donation Drive' on Friday, September 20, 2024, at the Mualpui Campus, Government Aizawl College. A total of 108 donors (72 male and 34 female) donated their blood on this day, taking the total unit of blood donated this semester to 405 units.

|Red Ribbon Club Club Activity
The NSS GAC Unit in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club organised a Blood Donation Drive on August 30, 2024 (Friday) at Sikulpuikawn Campus, Govt. Aizawl College. In total, 131 units of blood was donated with 111 male and 20 female donors. Two alumni donors were present and an outsider also donated a unit as well. A department-wise break up of donors is as follows:

|Red Ribbon Club Club Activity
On August 8, 2024 (Monday), the Department of Sociology in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club, Govt. Aizawl College observed ‘International Youth Day’ at Mualpui Campus. The programme was graced by the Principal, Mr. Lalbiakzuala and Vice Principal (Administration) Dr. Lalsangzuala Khiangte. Both delivered speeches on the importance of spreading HIV awareness and sex education. The 3rd and 5th Semester Major/Core students of Sociology actively participated in the programme by making posters and distributing pamphlets and condoms.

|Red Ribbon Club Club Activity
The NSS Government Aizawl College Unit organized a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club on July 31, 2024 (Wednesday) at the Mualpui Campus. A total of 166 units of blood was donated to the Civil Hospital Blood Bank by 164 students and 2 faculty members. There were 32 female and 134 male donors.
An awareness campaign was organised the previous day, i.e. July 30, 2024 (Tuesday) at 11:30 a.m. at the Courtyard, Mualpui Campus. Lalremruata, the highest blood donor of Mizoram was invited to speak at the occasion. He emphasized that "A unit of blood donated can save the life of another human being". All the students of B.Com along with 3rd Semester & 5th Semester B.A. students attended the programme.
