Blood Donation Drive: NSS & Red Ribbon Club

Club Activity

The NSS-GAC Unit, in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club, GAC and Civil Hospital Blood Bank organized a 'Blood Donation Camp' on March 6, 2025 at Mualpui Campus, GAC. 4 NSS PO and 2 Red Ribbon Club Nodal Officers, all 4th & 6th Semesters along with PG (M.A Edu) and Commerce Department participated in the camp.

Total number of donors: 166 (Male-110, Female-56)

HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign With MSACS

Club Activity

The NSS GAC Unit and Red Ribbon Club collaborated with the Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS) to organize an HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign on March 5, 2025 (Wednesday) at Mualpui Campus.

Mrs. Lalchhuanzuali was the resource person and she delivered a heartfelt and powerful speech about her life as a person living with HIV/AIDS. The programme was chaired by Mr. Zomuansanga, PO, NSS GAC Unit.

Sixth semester students of Education, Economics, Sociology, English, Hindi and Commerce departments attended the programme.

GAC Music Club Performed at Aizawl Day 2025

Club Activity

In response to an invitation by the Aizawl Municipal Corporation on the occasion of Aizawl Day 2025 celebration, the GAC Music Club showcased their musical talent at the AR Ground, Aizawl February 26, 2025. The Aizawl Day 2025 celebrated the city's heritage and culture, bringing together artists and audiences to commemorate Aizawl's progress. The event was also marked by local entrepreneurs opening stalls across the AR Ground, side by side with other forms of entertainment. 

As the GAC Music Club belted out a blend of traditional and modern songs for an hourlong performance (from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM), encore was demanded from the organizers and the excited crowd, resulting in stretching the performance well beyond the stipulated time slot. A handsome sum of Rs 10,000 was awarded to the GAC Music Club for this gig as honorarium.

GAC Music Club’s Participation at Lenlai Fest 2025

Club Activity

The Music Club participated at the Beat Contest held on occasion of Lenlai Fest 2025 on February 22, 2025 organized by ICFAI University Mizoram. The performance included a setlist carefully curated to highlight the band’s strengths and unique musical style. Despite an unexpected technical difficulty (where the bass guitar malfunctioned), the band delivered a remarkable performance that earned the College the 4th position among many talented competitors. Although they narrowly missed a podium finish, the Club’s participation in the contest was a valuable learning experience. It highlighted the importance of preparation for unforeseen technical issues and strengthened their resolve to improve in future competitions. Moving forward, they plan to invest in better equipment maintenance and backup instruments to prevent similar issues.
