National Seminar on Mizo Folk Song Organised by Mizo Department & PM-USHA

On September 10, 2026, the Department of Mizo organized a National Seminar on Mizo Folk Song (A Study on Mizo Folk Song from UG & PG Syllabus Under MZU & ICFAI University) at the GAC Conference Hall, Mualpui, with the support of PM-USHA.

In the first session, chaired by Mrs. Lalremveli Chenkual, Prof. C Vanlalhruaia delivered the keynote address. Mr. Lalbiakzuala, Principal, gave a speech and inaugurated the seminar, and Boney Hmingthantluanga, a V Semester student from the Mizo Department, entertained the gathering with a song. At the end of the session, Dr. B. Vanlalthlana delivered the vote of thanks.

The technical session was divided into two sessions. In the first session, Dr. Enid H. Lalrammuani, Assistant Professor, Pachhunga University College, was the moderator and five papers were presented. In the second session, Mrs. C. Lalnunpuii, Associate Professor, Government Aizawl North College, was the moderator and six papers presented. These informative presentations were followed by lively discussions. The research papers presented will be compiled and published as a book.

Around 180 people attended this seminar, including 3^rd and 5^th semester Mizo Department students of Government Aizawl College, M.A. (Mizo) students of ICFAI University Mizoram, and a number of teachers and research scholars from various colleges.
