World Poetry Day Observed by Mizo Department

On March 18, 2026 at 2:30 PM, the Department of Mizo organized a celebration of World Poetry Day for IV and VI semester students under the sponsorship of PM USHA. Although World Poetry Day is officially observed on 21st March, the programme was conducted earlier at a time most convenient for all.

The event was coordinated by Mrs. Lalremveli Chekual, Head of Department. Prof. C. Vanlalhruaia delivered a brief but engaging speech on the theme ‘Poetry as a Bridge for Peace and Inclusion’. Thirteen students participated in poetry reading, presenting both their own compositions and works by other poets. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Daniel Vanlaldampuia. The event was attended by approximately 130 students and 5 teachers. It proved to be both a beneficial and enjoyable experience for everyone present.
