MOU Signed With New Adopted Village- Hmunpui

On March 19, 2026 at 1:30 PM, Government Aizawl College and Hmunpui Village formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), under which Hmunpui was adopted as the College’s “Adopted Village”. The programme was held at Hmunpui YMA Hall. The MOU-signing ceremony was chaired by Prof. Lalsangzuala Khiangte. Speeches were delivered by Mr. Lalbiakzuala, Principal, Govt. Aizawl College; Mr. H. Lalkaisara, Vice Chairman, Hmunpui Village Council; and Mr. Lalhmingmawia Sailo, President, Hmunpui YMA. The programme was enlivened by dance performances from the Huiva Cultural Club and the GAC Dance Club, and musical performances by Lalremsiami, IV Semester, M.A., (Youth Icon Top 10 winner), Lalrinfeli Khiangte, II Semester, B.A., and C. Lalremliani of Hmunpui, who captivated the audience with their melodious songs.

During the programme, various items were presented to local community organizations, handed over by Ms. Lalremruati, Vice Principal, Govt Aizawl College. These gifts included two volleyballs, one volleyball net, and one silpaulin to Hmunpui YMA; one silpaulin to Hmunpui Village Council; one silpaulin to Hmunpui MUP; and one silpaulin to Hmunpui MHIP.

The MOU emphasizes collaboration for the development and upliftment of Hmunpui Village, including sustainable management and protection of natural resources, as well as mutual support in research activities across various fields. Approximately 200 participants, including student leaders, teaching and non-teaching staff of Government Aizawl College, and village leaders as well as community members of Hmunpui Village, attended the programme and shared a festive lunch together.
