Seminar on ‘Gandhian Enduring Legacy: Life, Principles, and Education’: Education Department

The Department of Education organized a seminar on October 3, 2024 to honor Mahatma Gandhi’s 155th birth anniversary focusing on his enduring legacy, principles, achievements and educational contributions. The seminar was hosted by H Vanlalduhsaki, ACR, MA 1st Semester and Dr. R Lalthankhumi delivered the introductory remarks.
Three MA 1st Semester students presented papers as follows:
1. "The Life of Mahatma Gandhi" by C. Remsangpuii provided an overview of Gandhi's life, highlighting his early years, struggles, and pivotal moments that shaped his philosophy.
2. Vanlalthlani’s topic "Remarkable Achievements of Mahatma Gandhi" showcased Gandhi's significant accomplishments, including leading India's independence movement, promoting non-violence, and advocating for social reform.
3. Lalfakzuali explored Gandhi's vision for education, emphasizing the importance of holistic learning, self-reliance, and character-building through her topic "Mahatma Gandhi: His Thoughts on Education".
The seminar was concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the presenters, organizers, and participants by Lalzarmawii, MA 1st Semester. A certificate of appreciation was given to each paper presenter. The seminar was attended by 30 students and 5 faculty members.
